Opening-Night of the 2010 Make Your Mark Exhibition

                                                     

On the 18th of September a group gathered at the Barn Galleries in Henley-on-Thames for the Opening-Night of this year's Make Your Mark Winners Exhibition. The prize winners were well represented with over half of them travelling from around the world to Henley for the big night, all four category winners were present.

From all over the world, including from Singapore and Florida, the winning paintings had been flown in to Henley to be shown in the Make Your Mark exhibition.

The Make Your Mark 2010 judges were present to congratulate the well deserving prize winners. Many Daler-Rowney employees also attended the opening-night together with a selection of key people from the art world.

Daler-Rowney's CEO Patrick Giraud presented the winners and runners-up with their certificates and prizes.

Raza Hussain, winner of the Under 12 category with his highly acclaimed painting 'A French Bachelor', attended the opening-night with his family who were very proud of Raza's success and the great praise he received from the judges. A representative from Raza's school in the UK also attended to receive their prize of £1,000 worth of art materials.

Under 18 category winner Jacqueline Zaubitzer of Germany was joined by fellow category runners-up Markus Jantti from Finland, Justin Boyd from the UK, and Natalia Rekas from Poland.

Wim Riksen from the Netherlands, won the Leisure Painter category with his 'Se7en Sins' painting and travelled to Henley for the opening-night to see his painting exhibited and receive his prize. He was joined by Leisure Painter runner-up Leslie Child from the UK.  Wim won a painting holiday which he will enjoy in 2011.

The Professional Artist category was represented by its winner Helen Cassidy from the UK, she won this category of the competition with her painting 'Ghostly Coast'.  Helen won a 10 year supply of Daler-Rowney art materials for her success in this year's competition.

Those winners and runners-up who attended the opening-night took some time during the evening to leave their mark on the Make Your Mark canvass.
